  9. RobOnt Radio - The Amateur Porn Hour
  10. 15 May 2007 at 12:44pm

isl01005_tn.jpgYes Dan and I did go out on our Man date last weekend to see a musical, and yes we do discuss it, but that's not the focus of this episode.. (and for those of you in the Toronto area, go check out Evil Dead The Musical, you wont' regret it). We discuss a bunch of things this time around, like the continuing "War Against Radio That We The Special Interest Find Offensive" going on in The States, and umm Dora and Diego, Rob's latest podcast addiction Smodcast, but because Lori joins us yet again the topic turns to sex (as it often does). More specifically towards taking pix of your spouses and yourselves naked when you have a digital camera, and then we get a special call from someone when Dan gets a little bit too revealing with his sex life. Any guess on who?

  11. O.A.B.

(set to the tune of "L.S.D." from "Hair")

Listen to me sing it or save your eardrums by simply reading the lyrics below!

    B.L.T.
    minus L & T
    makes a sandwich
    just with B.
    But with avocado
    you get an A
    and a sliver of onion
    Makes an O.A.B.

    O.A.B.
    B.L.T.
    D.I.Y.
    A.S.A.P.
    A.S.A.P.
    O.A.B.
    F.Y.I.
    B.Y.O.B.

    F.Y.I. B.Y.OB. O.A.B.

[P.S. This is based on a Nancy Silverton recipe, though I took shortcuts. The best shortcut was instead of making green goddess dressing, I chopped up tarragon, and mixed it in with mayo, a splash of red wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt and pepper. C'est magnifique!]

  15. Listen Without Prejudice: Idolator's Foreign-Exchange Program
  16. 1 Feb 2007 at 2:50pm

Mexican rap/rock fusion act Molotov may or may not have broken up: Wikipedia says yes, the band's Web site says maybe. Either way, they haven't put out a new album since 2004, but for a brief moment, Molotov was on top of the rock en español world, baiting Latin rock stars Mana with the title of their first album and appearing on the Y Tu Mamá También soundtrack. Employing a charmingly childish mix of girls, girls, and dislike of authority, Molotov managed to have their albums banned in Mexico for a minute. Their most recent record, Con Todo Respecto covers tracks from the Misfits, Falco, and Los Amantes de Lola, and broken up or not, Molotov has taught us many new bits of Spanish profanity to mix into our casual speech.

Shoemaker Levy 9, discovered by amateurs. Image credit: NASA
Astronomy is one of the few sciences where amateurs make meaningful contributions to discoveries. Many professional researchers work hand-in-hand with teams of amateurs to make discoveries that just wouldn't be possible without this kind of collaboration. In fact, Pamela regularly relies on dedicated enthusiasts for her data on variable stars.
